The previous post was about the book I had the joy and pleasure of working on with a psychic medium who lives here in Goodsprings, Nevada (pop. 200). He channels Michael Jackson from the Other Side, and together, we brought in a book written BY Michael, not ABOUT Michael. Michael stipulated the cover design, and named the book I Can See Clearly Now. The result is now available for purchase at Amazon.com (http://tinyurl.com/24gjb2x). Working with Michael was fascinating, and I spent about 40 hours interviewing him, totally confident it really was him and not a figment of Lary’s imagination.
Back in 2000, I also had the privilege of working with another medium named Christine Toomey, who currently lives in Austin, TX. She brought in two fascinating books BY Princess Diana and comedian Chris Farley respectively.
So why did an English princess choose Christine, a relatively obscure American medium, and not some well-known Hollywood medium or one of the fine English mediums? Well, in the Introduction, Christine describes how, on the night Diana crossed over, the princess just showed up in Christine’s home and told her she wanted to dictate a book through Christine. Initially, Christine was reluctant, but Diana explained that Christine’s energy and hers are very similar, and that the result would be the book Diana wanted, and not the product of a Hollywood medium’s grab for fame. (Remember, this is the same reason why Michael Jackson chose Lary – because the result would be Michael’s book and not Lary’s.)
Also, Diana knew that Christine would have access to me as editor and book designer. This had three benefits: first, being a fellow Brit, I would ensure that Christine did not ‘americanize’ Diana’s language. Second, being pretty metaphysical, I would not freak out over the source of the transmission. And third, even if I say it myself, I’m a damn good editor.
Here is the book’s back cover text for your enjoyment:
“Rarely does someone capture the hearts and minds of billions of people worldwide the way Diana did. And even more rarely is that life snuffed out by a tragic death shrouded in mystery.
“The world grieved its collective loss, but was she truly lost? Here, In Her Own Words, Diana returns through noted psychic medium Christine Toomey to tell us of her hopes and fears for that life, what her soul intended for her life, why it cut it short, and what she went through during and after her death.
“Unlike other books that are about Diana, In Her Own Words is by Diana herself. These are her words—no interpretations or opinions—just Diana talking about her emotional problems, Charles and Camilla, her affairs, her beloved sons, and the spiritual awakening towards the end of her life that still continues on the other side.
“This book will shock you, surprise you, delight you, but most of all, it will reveal the enormous love that Diana has for humanity. Finally, her after-death experiences will dispel any fear you may have of the momentary transition we call death. Through Christine Toomey, Diana’s real contribution to humanity has just begun.”
In the book, Diana also talks about her life on the Other Side, and many of the folks she’s met there, including Jesus, Mother Teresa, John Lennon, and Chris Farley. It was Diana who suggested to Chris that he, too, write a book through Christine, which he did.
The first edition of Diana’s book was published in 2000, and went out of print. This second edition contains previously unpublished transmissions from 2000 through 2007, ending with the memorial service and rock concert that William and Harry put on for their mum. You can read excerpts from the book at www.christine2me.com. It is now available on Amazon (http://tinyurl.com/322e6fr).
As with Michael Jackson’s book, the main thing about this book is its source – Princess Diana herself – who crossed over in 1997. As with Michael, she still has all the same mannerisms and concerns as when she lived in a physical body. I spent several hours in interviews with Diana, and there was never a moment of doubt in my mind about it being her, as we chatted about England and things Christine could not possibly have known about. The fact that Diana herself dictated the book speaks volumes about our survival of death, and goes a long way to dispelling fear of our own crossing.
PS: I’ve also played the same role for Chris Farley, and his book will be available on Amazon in a few days – more about that book in the next post.
